Double X
Double X

Sunday mornings 9am to Noon we give you Double X.  A three-hour sample of what you can hear on X103's HD radio station.

What is Double X?

The people at X103 created a sister station for X103 called Double X.  Double X plays the best in independent, college and classic alternative.  Here is a brief list of some of the bands that you can hear on Double X:  U2, Talking Heads, Social Distortion, Sonic Youth, Beck, Johnny Cash, The Cure, Depeche Mode, Coldplay, Dave Matthews Band, Death Cab For Cutie, Modest Mouse, Margo and The Nuclear So and So's, The Evens, Youth Group, TV on The Radio, Joe Lally, and a whole lot more.

Not sure of some of the bands on that list?  Haven’t heard some of those bands on the radio in a long time?   Double X is one heck of an adventurous ride through alternative music's past, present and future.

"What is HD Radio?"

I'll explain.   HD Radio stands for High Definition Radio.  Still confused?

You ever see before a sporting event or show this weird intro where the TV guy with the big booming voice exclaiming, "This program can be seen in HD TV!"   If you have this HD TV (High Definition Television) you can click over to the HD and see the sporting event or show with High Definition crystal clear quality.  Well, the same goes for HD Radio... well everything except for the picture.

HD Radio is radio presented in the highest of sound quality.  One of the more odd side effects of X103 entering the HD Radio world is now X103 can split its signal two separate and unique radio stations.  One radio signal can now be two radio signals.  X103, Indy’s Rock Alternative on one signal and Double X, Alternative Alternative on the other signal.

Hopefully your next question is, “Where can I get more information about HD Radio?”

www.hdradio.com is a great place to start.  It has more technical information on HD Radio.  It also has links on where you can buy the HD Radio.  That way you can experience crystal clear sound and get all the new stations on the dial (like Double X!).
